Formed in the Word: Scripture and Peacemaking
The 2012 Bridgefolk conference will take place at Saint Benedict’s Monastery & The College of Saint Benedict in Saint Joseph, Minnesota from July 26 – 29, 2012. This year’s conference will focus on Engaging Scripture as one of the principle Practices of Formation for Peacemakers shared by Mennonites and Catholics. We will explore various methods our traditions employ to engage Scripture—from lectio and visio divina to formal Bible study and journaling. The practice will serve as a lens to focus discussion on topics such as the challenge of “Biblical illiteracy” in our culture today, the way we form ourselves and our congregations as a people of peace, and more.
A conference outline / agenda will posted on this website at a later date, once topics and speakers have been confirmed. We hope to see you this summer in Saint Joseph.
